The mens event was won by Tom Pollard (Sherborne School) who defeated Paul Clark (Frome) 3-1 in a very entertaining final. Clark had proved to good and experienced for London based Salisbury player Nick Wiffen in one semi final while Pollard had shown Shrivenham player Julian Beckett the door with a convincing 3-0 win. Other notable matches were Olympiads Mike Partner stretching Wiffen to five games and James Powley also of Chippenham edging home against Corshams Steve Wakefield 10-9 in the 4th. and 5th. games. The Veterans o-45 was won by Stuart Hardy who comfortably disposed of Marlboroughs Dave Lorrain in the final. Lorrain had come through a close five game match to oust Village Swindons Mick Brown while Hardy had an easier time against Corshams Tony Claydon winning 3-1.

The mens plate was won by Paul Slater of Devizes who beat Moonrakers Peter Martin 3-0 in the final, and the Veterans plate saw James Dewar of the Army beat Moonrakers Colin Cook, also 3-0.

The finals were watched by some 40 people and the raffle was well supported. In all the event made a profit of over 160 that was given to the Wiltshire Association. It would be pleasing if the sponsors gained some business from players around the County!
