Latest Report

With just over half the matches now played there is little pattern emerging, except that Blunsdon Beer Monsters are scoring remarkably consistently, with four 16 point results thus far, and as yet unbeaten. Marlboro Fags have put in a late spurt after a dodgy start, whilst the Boastmeisters tripped up against the aforementioned Fags last week. Frome have fielded some strong teams yet slipped up twice already, while Melksham have sorely missed the presence of Nick Higginbottom for a couple of matches.

The "Old Masters" league is still wide open - a string of good results from any team could see them in the top 3 (who go forward to the play-offs). The "Whippersnappers League" is also still wide open, not least because I've only posted two results for Blunsdon Boasters!! On that subject, COULD ALL TEAM CAPTAINS FORWARD ANY RESULTS CURRENTLY NOT SHOWN ON THE WEBSITE. I have now posted all the results I currently have. I know there has been a problem with the online scorecard - so probably the best move is to send me the results directly to my home email address, paul.jacomb@tiscali.co.uk

Remember that the top 3 teams in the Old Masters League will go through to the playoffs, and the top team in the Whippersnappers league. Also bear in mind that no players can be introduced in the last two matches (games 8 or 9) unless they are beginners/juniors - i.e. no ringers allowed at the last minute!! Keep those results coming in, and as ever - a reminder - can you all (except Melksham, who have paid) forward 10 league fee to me, cheque made payable to Wilts SRA, to my home address - which is 16 Curlew Drive, Cepen Park North, Chippenham, Wilts SN14 6YQ. Alternatively if you are playing the Olympiad Novices again (i.e Blunsdon Boasters, Mark's Manglers, Hylands Nickers) just pay me on the night!!

Regards, Paul Jacomb, Wilts Summer League Organiser
